As is our tradition at Temple Or Hadash, our High Holiday Services are open to everyone; member or non-member, local residents or visitors, all are welcome! So, if you know of someone who has no place to attend services, or are unaffiliated with a congregation and might like to attend services, please feel free to join us and invite others along!!
As in the past, no tickets are required - just be there and participate in any ways that are meaningful for you.
All services this year (except Tashlich) will be held at the Fort Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Dr., Fort Collins. (click here for directions)
For those with young children, babysitting will be provided for the evening and morning services of both Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, and for the memorial service on Yom Kippur.

Prayer Books:
Prayer book quantities are limited, and since the holidays fall on the weekend this year, we expect greater than usual attendance. Please bring your own prayer books (Gates of Repentance) with you if you have them. If you do not own your own and would like to add this essential volume to your personal library, we are going to be placing an order at the beginning of September. Click here to download an order form.
Food Drive:
Each year at this time we also consider those less fortunate, and will be having our annual drive for contributions of food and/or cash to benefit the Larimer Food Bank. Collection will be at all services.
If you have any questions, please call us at (970)407-7896.

3—4pm Activities and games for children and the young-at-heart
4—5pm Concert by Rabbi Joe Black!
We’re absolutely delighted to have Rabbi Joe Black join us for this year’s party! Rabbi Black is one of the most popular contemporary Jewish artists, having shared his music with hundreds of Jewish communities around the United States and Canada. With children, he is energetic and surprising. With adults, his superb musicianship, powerful songwriting and sense of spiritual awareness create an opportunity for head and heart to come together. His infectious musical style teaches while being very entertaining. Rabbi Black has recorded five critically acclaimed albums of Jewish music. In July he was appointed Senior Rabbi of Temple Emmanuel in Denver. Please join us in giving Rabbi Black a rousing welcome to Fort Collins and Temple Or Hadash!
5—6pm Refreshments and socializing, featuring freshly made latkes!
Reservations Required - Seating is limited. Reserve your seats today!
The Jewish Chaplain's Council has been providing services to the US armed forces for Jewish military personnel since WWI.
The Solo Seder Kit Program began in WWII. Currently, the Council is preparing hundreds of Solo Seder Kits, which include grape juice, matzah, soup, a Haggadah and other holiday items. The kits will be sent to Jewish military personnel stationed in the Middle East, Germany, Kosovo and around the world.
The cost to sponsor a kit is $14. Please make checks out to JWB Jewish Chaplains Council.
If you know the name of a Jewish soldier you can also include the name of the soldier and a letter with your check, and a kit will be directed to him or her.
I would love to see every family in our congregation sponsor a kit. I will be collecting checks at our February 3rd service and would like to send them off (with a note from our Temple) ASAP to give the Jewish Chaplains Council time to assemble and send these kits to personnel overseas.
If you have any questions, call Suzanne Trautwein.
3rd Annual Chanukah Concert
Temple Or Hadash is proud to announce our 3rd Annual Chanukah Concert for the northern Colorado community.
As in years past, admission is free! This year we'll be featuring Los Lantzmun!
Date: Saturday, December 19, 2009 Time: 4:30pm Where: Lincoln Center, 417 West Magnolia St, Fort Collins
Los Lantzmun plays high-energy Jewish world beat music -- a toe-tapping fusion of Eastern European, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern music, sung in Hebrew, Yiddish, English, and Ladino (Judeo-Spanish) and fueled by a driving percussion. Los Lantzmun plays a wide range of Jewish ethnic music, from manic klezmer to mystical Middle Eastern grooves to salsa-tinged Spanish ballads, on a variety of world instruments. The band has enlivened celebrations and played to enthusiastic audiences at festivals and events in Colorado for over ten years, and has recorded two self-produced CDs of lively Jewish fusion music -- "One World" and "Lantzville." Their concerts are high-energy celebrations of the variety of joyous music from across the Jewish world. Listen to some of their music online at http://www.halaqua.com/page2/page2.html
“Los Lantzmun achieve something very rare among current Jewish music performing bands ― a sense of balance among the many types and styles of Jewish music around the globe.” ―Ari Davidow, Klezmershack.com
